Hi there,

I too use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & my own blog to network with various people. Obviously my Facebook & LinkedIn profiles and contacts are very different as Facebook is for more of my friends whilst LinkedIn is more of my professional relationships.

Then comes along Twitter. I'm a new Twitter user but use it to tweet both personal & business info, over the same profile. Strangely I have both contacts from my Facebook account as well as my LinkedIn account so this is where the paradox lies.

I could of course have two Twitter accounts and keep them separate but then again I'd have so some many different accounts and log in details that it would drive me crazy.

But I don't see any reason for alarm in this as I think others do exactly the same. There's kind of an unwritten rule between each of the sites that people abide by. Therefore they're used to seeing and writing things on Facebook the would necessarily write on LinkedIn. This goes for Twitter as well. People just expect to see some comments on Twitter that relate to both personal & business life.

This said I do tend to be aware of the tweets I'm writing on Twitter far more than I am on Facebook as I know there could be potential business contact reading it.

I do however use a good application called Hellotxt. Some of you may know it, others not. This programe can link with any of your chosen social networking accounts and you simply use a check box system whilst writing your next update. This then forwards your messages to each of your chosen accounts. Therefore updating them easily in one go.

If for example, you didn't want your comment to appear on linkedIn as it's aimed more at your friends simply un-select LinkedIn, hit send & it will automatically update all your social networking sites bar your LinkedIn profile and vise-versa for other updates. Shame it can't also update my blog otherwise it would be a one stop shop.
