How have we managed to breed a population who idolize a man whose priorities are to "cut the U.S. down to size" among the world of nations. To apologize repeatedly for our dominance in the world. To instigate andlight the fuse to a populist movement of resentment, revenge, and a taking-back from those who have been successful. To bitterly scold with a sneer on his face, those who take risk and profit. To use threats and strong-arming thuggery should they oppose his agenda or demand their contracts be honored. To rudely disrespect and insult on successive occasions our ally the U.K. in direct and personal manner. To lie to our faces about such an obvious facade calling a blatant thievery by the name of stimulus. To insult thinking people by hypocritically scolding the nation that "this spending and debt cannot continue". To flare his nostrils about carbon and wasteful behavior then flambouyantly going on ritzy nights out, using TWO jets to fly back as Michele goes shopping in Paris. That people are so misled that they believe this guy. That Obama's fans see him as a personality and are not in an accurate mindset that would have them perceive the President in the context of the roots of the United States of America. Instead they see him as someone they like - disconnected and divorced from the purpose and the makeup of what America is. That socialism, progressivism, utopian dreams, and the World of Citizens make up your context in which you are seeing Obama, or any leader, it makes sense that you are proud of him, and feel solid and protective of him. That's all fine and good. Now it is time for you to be honest. These criticisms are not bashings. They are descriptive in nature of a leader who does not subscribe to the concepts that this country was founded on. And the Republicans have been taken over by this movement as well. It is not just Obama. The Bushes are right in with the same program. It's probably far too late to set it right again. They have achieved critical-mass with the corporatist/socialist/totalitarian "world-as-one" agenda with their approved messages through a controlled academia and media. Those that hold back and retain a vision of a country of liberty are beyond being marginalized and are even seen as disturbed or dangerous. This is intentional and with every passing year will become firmly ingrained into the accepted, general "wisdom". And to think that barely 2 or 3 decades ago that was the mainstream idea that dominated the land. Mr.&Mrs. John Citizen. Tradition. Values. Those people in that ranch-style home, and their thousands of neighbors in that corner of the city; or those farms out on the road to the next town, with the horses in the barn; in the many homes and apartments, most believed in what came before and in sustaining that for a lasting
America.
Not any more.
How can you feel hopeful about the insulting and the disrespecting of the image of America? Did I not care about that, I too would be impressed and proud of this guy.

That he is a "good" speaker should, by now, be acknowledged and seen beyond. That is old news and should no longer overshadow his actual intentions and agendas. The slickness, the "wonderful" phraseology, the "beautifully expressed" sentiments, are all distractions. If you don't inspect body language; if you don't take note of what he says to one compared to what he says to another; if you let the emotions distract you from the truths behind the words; if you don't put the constitutional de-construction into the context of a century-long agenda and study the history of the so-called "progressive movement", you will not see past the fact that he is a "good" speaker. You will think that the wonderful chills you feel as you listen to him are based on something that is truly good.
In recognizing the extraordinary influence he has, the trick is to discern whether that has anything at all to do with the honest functionality of our nation as it was founded, and deciding whether truth is to be found by following the crowd or by thinking for your self.

Some historical imprecissions about Spanish History... Al Andalus and the Inquisición were never at the same time.
Some imprecissions with the current international affairs: alliance of Civilizations is not only a turkish initiative in the UN, but a shared one with Spain!
Obama has good intentions, I hope he do not forget the contribution of Hispanic to the US and the world. Hopefully these examples from his speach in Cairo are the exception andunintentional.
Good luck to all of you!

Obama speech did not matter to me. It's the People of USA that are suffering from lacks of jobs and entrepreneurs and small business company. USA will founder if he does not get things going in USA. New York has lost so many jobs.
My son was laid off in New York and now living with us to make end meet. We had to help some of his friends with food money from NEW YORK. So, I think President O needs to take care of USA.

My sons friend we had help with food money. That is sad this is happing in USA. So, I don't care to much for his speeches at this time. He needs to help our USA People ASAP.

I didn't think it was a balanced speech. Everyone is so glad he is reaching out to Muslims, and I agree. But he set a condition for the Israelis -- no more settlements. No such concrete condition for Hamas.

I also thought some of the audience applause was at strange times!

Really? wow. I challenge any one to provide a LOGICALLY SOUND argument about anything that President Obama has done to "damage our country" so far. When the economy tanked on Bush, the Republicans said that this is the result of Clinton's policies, and that it takes that long for the policy's effects to be felt. They said the same thing about Clinton's success- that it was due to Reaganomics and George Herbert Walker Bush (a dignified, intelligent, thoughtful, and strong leader in his own right). Now that the economy continues to struggle, the GOP blames issues on Obama, who has been in office for just over 100 days. It's sad when they can't even see the lack of logical thinking in their own arguments. I liked the policies and leadership of Reagan and Clinton. I like the leadership and dignity of McCain. I am solidly either a conservative democrat or a liberal republican, but I register as independent. We could solve many of our mudslinging and bipartisan issues if we did away with parties all together and judged people solely on the merit of their actions.

As for our being one of the biggest Muslim countries, he's talking numbers- again back to that logic and critical thinking thing. 0.6% of our population is Muslim- that's around 2 million Muslims in the US. And how could you say he doesn't acknowledge Christianity- it was a HUGE issue during his campaign, and he references GOD regularly.

The next time you write some comments, please re-read them before hitting submit. Use critical thinking and logic- does what you say make sense? Are you ignoring HUGE facts and issues to make a point? Could someone easily pull up hundreds of references to rebuke your points? Think about what that means...

Humble, Intelligent, Focused, Thoughtful. Again, our new president displays the high emotional intelligence that has made him likable and believable. He also showed that he cares enough about fellow earthlings to learn about the history and values of those who differ from him. While I have no idea how his audience accepted what he had to say, as an American citizen I feel very proud, confident, and comfortable with him addressing any group with dignity and the utmost respect for them and pride in the US.
